Spring Steelhead!!

Michigan and other states are off to a full swing for rainbow and steelhead action! If you have not created a user name and password for this forum feel free to do so. There is absolutely no charge to join this Fishing Resource Forum and please enjoy all the membership benefits from Monster fish pics, fish pics, River reports, etc. It is a most beautiful time for Michigander's and others and the fish will hopefully be biting here soon if not already! Feel free to add your fishing adventures, pics, etc. to the WR Forum board. The local fishery is starting to show signs of life as we are now seeing a few less skippers and some adult fish. Get out there with your friends and family and catch the Big One and please practice Catch and Release if you are not feeding a family or yourself! Please also remember that spawning rainbow and steelhead are very sensitive this time of season and if a spawning hen is caught, carefully release her even though some rivers do not support good returns, the fish are still carrying out their life cycle. For those that are looking for spawn perhaps an older mature female that is also consumed is OK to take per season. One hen steelhead and her roe is usually more than enough for a season. Trophy fish are certainly nice to show off but may be better suited returned to the natural environment if you do not plan to create a fish mount (consider fiberglass replicas as well) if of legal size, etc. or again to provide good nutrition for yourself and the family! ;)

Kindest Regards this Easter Season,
