Clinton River Report: Possible Master Angler Released Fish

Friday afternoon I decided to head down to the river. The day was full of gray skies and scattered sun with a slow flow but good color and depth. Decided to fish some dark lines and the hook up came fairly quick to a nice down stream jolt and a fairly quick land. I had though this was a nice sized carp to bring to hand but after closer look and Facebook comments it may indeed be a master angler Redhorse Sucker. This particular fish fell to a wiggle stone and weighed out at 8 1/2 pounds. The minimum entry length for the Master Angler is 22 " and 4 pounds and I believe this one was over 23 ". The current state record is btwn 12 to 16 pounds I do believe?! Any thoughts here? Is it indeed a Redhorse or another type of sucker? Anyway, this fish was shortly released after a photo op and some short video.
