Clinton River: Newest Update

We have been fishing the Mighty C since October 1st and the river has been showing some signs of good life! I have personally hooked a good amount of fish since October 1st but many a carp and a few salmon and a few steel as well as some short lived fights with no visual confirmation. The water temp is dropping and at favorable spawning conditions for our lake run salmon. The steelies have been a bit skittish in this low and clear water we are receiving at the present. The prior rains brought some fish in and after they settled they were targetable with the right baits or flies. The water CFS is currently at 214 which is only 1 CFS up from the mean for this tinge of year. Look for more rain to bring in a gentle push and don't get discouraged out there as it is still a bit early and the bite should get better. Enjoy these cooler days and fishing opportunities!

Kindest Regards,
