Hex caught Trout

Any large trout caught this year during the Michigan Hex hatch? Lets hear about it and you may want to put up a pic as well under 'Fish Pictures'

This is a great topic. I spent some time on the Pere Marquette this summer in hopes of finding a good Hex hatch but was very unsuccessful. Only one fish was caught on a hex and there was not an actually bug in the air that night. I think we were just throwing hexes in desperation!

I've never fished the PM for the hex hatch. Do they have a good hatch over there, and whats the best time of the year to hit it? Is it a week or two earlier than Manistiee?

PM gets a great hex hatch, check out the different forums out there and you can figure out when is the right time of the year.
As to time in comparision to the Manistee, if we are talking the upper Manistee then they are pretty similar.

Thanks Troutbum,
Thats good info to keep on the back burner, and going to the PM saves about an hour drive time. It will still be hard to make a trip over there, when you already know where the good spots are on other rivers, it will be like starting all over again.

That depends on what you call big...lol.

I did catch a lot of these:

(this was actually taken in 2009, during a blanket hatch on the AuSable)

The best fish that night was about 19 inches.

Last summer...I ended up being the catch.
