How important is it?
Well that depends on how big a boy you are now don't it?
(anybody else a Roy D. Mercer fan?)

Stream ettiquette is not seen near as much as it used to be.
Stream ettiquette means so many different things.
To me it means....
Being polite and respectful to other fisherman.
It means treating the stream/ river with respect.
(trash left, trees chopped down, bank erosion.
I could go on & on but you get the idea)

Stream ettiquette to me means getting out of the river and going around someone in a run or hole instead of tromping thru it.
It means slowing or stoping your boat and asking wading fisherman which side they prefer you pass on.
It means taking a few minutes and helping a newbie.
It means when your fishing a hole or run with others, pay attention and cast in sync. (makes everybodies day much better that way. )
It means netting a fish for someone you don't know and taking a pic of the smiling angler.

How important is stream ettiquette you ask?
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
It works for me.
And yes, before anyone asks, there's atleast 1 guy every spring I have to give a stream side lesson to.
Sometimes it's a short lesson, sometimes it's a long hard lesson.
But before 'class' is done they all have learned a thing or 2 about stream ettiquette.
Pass it on!

Your right coondog. Alot of times people don't have a clue how to act.
First time I am nice about it. I'll explain the why's and how's of what they did and how it affects other fisherman or the 'system'.
If there is a second time I'm usually not a nice guy.
Haven't ever had anybody that needed a 3rd lesson.
