Guide: Jason C. Davis
Mr. Davis lives in Oxford, MI and is
Woodland Rivers head guide for fly-fishing trips. Jason likes to target
trout, salmon and steelhead. He will guide on any river in the state
that a client is interested in fishing but his personal preferences
are the Clinton River, the Rogue River, the Pere Marquette and the Little
Manistee. Jason is "bug certified" by the Clinton River Watershed
Council (CRWC) which greatly helps him in his ability to identify the
aquatic insects that fish are feeding on. Jason began trout fishing
in a northern MI brook trout stream at age seven. Like most young anglers,
he began as a spinning rod guy. As the years passed and his knowledge
of trout increased he converted over to fly-fishing. At the age of 18
he became a strict fly-fisherman. Since then Mr. Davis has chased trout
in almost every trout river in the lower peninsula. Jason is also our
head fly-casting instructor. He is also an active member of Clinton
Valley Trout Unlimited (CVTU) and has participated in many TU activities
including stream restoration projects, promoting TU at local fly-fishing
expos and giving presentations at monthly TU meetings. Jason is also
the Adopt-A-Stream coordinator for the Clinton River Watershed Council
(CRWC). His duties there include: stream monitoring, educating the general
public on matters concerning our watershed and promoting conservation
efforts in our area. Finally, Jason is also a wildlife artist specializing
in converting his clients prized catches into artwork that they can
cherish for a lifetime.

Guide: Nick G. Godwin
Nick is a resident of Lowell, MI and is Woodland Rivers head guide for center pin fishing trips. If interested , Nick will also do spin-fishing trips as well. The species of fish that Nick enjoys pursuing are steelhead, browns and anything that's's hungry. He currently guides on the Grand, The Big Manistee, The White, The Rogue and a few "unmentionable" tribs. Nick started fishing at the young age of 3. He tells us that he can remember stories of his grandmother tying him to the boat seat so that he would not fall out. For the next few years he would fish every chance he could for anything he could. His first steelhead came to hand at age 16 and he has been chasing them up and down the west coast of MI ever since. Nick developed a fascination with float fishing about 12 years ago. Nick is also a center pin casting instructor. Nick would also like to add that he is a whitetail population reduction specialist. Nick brings forth an incredible amount of stream side knowledge and is most willing to share his learned skills.
